Open Food Facts is organizing a global event for Open Data Day, and we need your help:
Open Food Hunt

The goal is to open data for food products in every country of the world, and to create local contributors communities.

Food is a great way to introduce people to open data:

• everyone has some interest in it
• it’s easy to start to open data through crowdsourcing (scanning barcodes and taking pictures of ingredients and nutrition facts with a smartphone)
• it’s easy to demonstrate the uses of food open data like decoding labels (e.g. additives like E150d), searching for allergen-free products, comparing products etc.
• there are some cool re-uses like http://howmuchsugar.in/ and http://madenear.me/

We are looking for local Open Data Day events organizers or participants who can present Open Food Facts and Open Food Hunt in their city.

Would you be interested? We have some ready-to-present slides that you can also adapt / translate on Open Food Hunt , and we would be of course very happy to help in any way we can.
