Open Gov Week (May 17 - 21, 2021) will soon be here! This year’s activities will be themed around the new phase of the Open Response + Open Recovery campaign. Open Renewal coincides with OGP’s 10th anniversary and is intended to renew the spirit, optimism and energy that first launched OGP and to put it to use to address the challenges of today, including advancing accountability and transparency, tackling systemic inequalities, protecting civic space, and enhancing citizen participation.
OGW is about scaling up our efforts and advancing open government in our communities. But this year, OGW also offers a unique opportunity to explore new bold, ambitious reforms. We are all invited to organize and attend (online) events, peer exchanges, webinars, online consultations, hackathons, and more. These activities can inspire the commitments being implemented and co-created in 2021 in a record 100 + action plans.
Please check the OGW toolkit (English, Spanish, French) for frequently asked questions about the week, some suggested social media posts and graphics, and examples of past events to inspire you to host events this year.
You can submit your events on the Open Gov Week site here or click here to find events happening near you. We also invite you to attend OGP-organized events to bring open government champions together to find solutions to the biggest challenges we face today, including the OGW Opening Plenary Session on May 17 at 8 AM EDT.
As always, we appreciate your help in promoting this year’s Open Gov Week with your network in any and all of the following ways:
- Follow us on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram and repost/retweet our announcements
- Share via social media, email, your newsletter, blog, or other platform, and encourage your partners to submit or attend an event.
Thanks so much and we look forward to your events!
